Tribute Wrap-up Report, Bluefin Tuna to 130-Pounds

Returned this morning from a 1.5 day trip with limits of yellowtail and 14 bluefin for 32 passengers. Bluefin were anywhere from 40-130 lbs. Most of ours were 80-130 lb class. Lots and lots of casualties on this trip due to light tackle or improper setups. These bigger fish are mean and you want to make sure you're using appropriate gear (heavy line/rod and 2-speed reels) no more tranx 500 and bass rod setups when the 100+ lb fish are lurking around, please!!!

Tribute Offshore Wrap-up Report

Apparently, if you found 20’ kelp patties that look like the Manta Rays from the Disney movie Moana, you can catch some nice grade Yellowtail on them (we found a few). Tough go on the Bluefin this morning, we saw several small spots and did get one to boil up, but ended with 54 Yellows for our 25 Angler’s in some great weather.
