Mike checked in from the Tribute out of San Diego. They bit last night! Just got off the phone with Capt Ian and it sounds like there were some great opportunities last night if you put in the work. A couple guys knocked out their limits and started handing fish off ending up with 17 Bluefin for our 22 anglers with double that finding their freedom. Most fish were in the 120-150 pound range.

The weather is gonna put a dent in things the next couple of days, but we have more of these reverse 1.5 day trips coming up.

Mike checked in from the Tribute out of San Diego. Here’s a good one from last night. Unfortunately, we decided to cancel tomorrow morning’s trip due to weather (swell to be more precise). Could we get the trip in? More than likely, but maybe not able to be where the fish are at the right time. The wind starts coming down tomorrow, but the 7-8’ swell @ 7 seconds was enough to make the decision. Picture a washing machine with a 7’ swell in it.

Fortunately, starting Monday it looks downright beautiful for quite a stretch and we are eager to get Tuesday mornings trip out after the excellent fishing we had yesterday.

Mike checked in from the Tribute out of San Diego. Very good fishing from  start to finish here, left on our first reverse 1.5-day trip yesterday morning at 11 o'clock. Caught some bonita on the way out, had a kelp patty for a half dozen yellowtail, and last night really really good bluefin fishing. Ended up a 25 bluefin between yesterday evening and early this morning for our 11 anglers, 12 of the fish were 100-180 pounds, picked up another 8 yellowtail this morning so up to 14 yellowtail, a little over one a round and they're nice fish, still got some fishing time. Looking around to see if we can find another kelp patty or two on the way in here but so far this has worked out pretty darn good. Mike has the current fish report for you below.

We fished hard again last night until it was time to have to go home and managed to add to our score. 6 Bluefin in the 50-60 pound range and 1 Yellowtail was what we were able to do with our current moon phase. Tons and tons of Bluefin around with several giant schools to look at both throughout the night as well during the day. I would expect to see some good hits coming in the near future.  And a big Happy Mothers Day to all of our awesome fisherwoman out there 🥰

Mike checked in from the Tribute out of San Diego. Good morning. Got out here last night and seen some really good schools in the dark. Actually, some really, really good schools, especially later on early this morning, 3 o'clock. I stopped on, I don't know, 7 or 8 schools last night. We did manage to hook half a dozen fish. We landed 2, 60 to 70 pound, fish. Here, after daylight, we did manage to hook one in one of the first schools we found after daybreak. And I've seen a ton of fish since then, lots and lots of fish here, big sonar schools, breezers. We've got a couple of them to boil up here a little bit, but right now the bluefin are being bluefin. So far, a very, very good sign. We'll keep you guys posted as the day progresses here. Mike has the current report for you below.

Mike checked in from the Tribute out of San Diego. Pretty decent start here. We had some fish last night, ending up with 11 bluefin in the 40 to 60, most in the 50 to 60 pound range. Sounded like it was definitely a little tougher night across the board. Some guys weren't able to catch anything. There were some single-digit counts, but I think from what the sound of it, we ended up fairly well. Nice morning here. Very nice weather.  Mike has the current fish report for you below.
